As I prepare to begin shooting my new Widow, I am wondering what preference folks have when it comes to your quiver? I will be using my bow exclusively for big game hunting. Do you prefer a back, hip or bow mounted quiver and why?
As for me, I can see the utility of having a bow mounted quiver but I don’t like how they hide the beauty of the bow. There’s no denying the “cool” factor of the back quiver, and the hip quiver’s someplace in between. Thoughts? Opinion?
In my opinion there is nothing more convenient than a bow mounted quiver. I know a lot of guys don’t but I believe that if you just mount it up and start shooting eventually you will get used to it… The only problem I see is shorter bows with longer arrows. At times the nocks will be in the dirt. Only you can decide. I have been doing it so long that a bow without a quiver doest feel right. Good luck.
This is the old quiver that black widow used to sell. Its still my favorite. If you can find em they are worth the money. Not to hard to keep them running….
As far as the beauty of the bow, I think it’s all the more beautiful with the quiver and arrows on the bow. I used to use a side quiver, but it was a pain when hunting with a backpack on. The convenience of the bow mounted wins out for me.
When I use a bow mounted quiver it’s usually a strap on that I move around to different bows.
But I have a Crown Jewel that I’m particularly fond of and for my birthday this year I am having Thunderhorn build a custom Sidewinder to match the bow. It should show up in a week, which will be right on time.
I’m guessing from all those asteriks in a previous post that Strap On as one word is construed as something other than a quiver style by the algorithms. :\
